Hosted filming trips for travel YouTubers

Explera hosts travel YouTubers in Thailand, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand, providing the hotel, transfers and activities on the ground while you film long-form vlogs or Shorts in your own style. In return you publish honest coverage with YouTube's paid promotion disclosure. Explera pays no fees and never provides flights, visas or travel insurance.

Can travel YouTubers get hosted trips?

Yes. Travel YouTubers can apply to be hosted by Explera in Thailand, Japan, South Korea or New Zealand. We arrange agreed parts of the trip on the ground, and you film and edit the way your channel works. It is hospitality in exchange for disclosed coverage, not a paid sponsorship; see travel influencer collaborations for how the exchange works.

Do I need a minimum number of subscribers?

If YouTube is your primary channel, your subscriber count decides your tier, and hosted tiers start at the threshold set out on the programme page. Below it, the Spotlight tier is considered case by case and normally covers one activity or tour, with no hotel. Reviewers also look at views, watch behaviour and where your audience lives, not subscribers alone.

What do I have to publish on YouTube?

You publish what your agreement lists, which on YouTube is normally a mention or a segment about the hosted experience, in a long-form video or Shorts. Around it sit the deliverables every creator has: a pre-trip announcement, a blog post on your own site, and social posts tagging @expleradmc. The deliverables page has the full list.

Long-form vlog or Shorts: which should I make?

Make whichever your audience watches; the agreement fixes what has to be delivered, not the edit. Long-form suits destination guides, routes and honest reviews; Shorts suit single moments and reach. Many creators cut Shorts from the long-form footage. Explera never scripts or pre-approves your editorial content.

Will there be time to film?

Yes, but you are a guest at working venues, so filming fits around them. Your itinerary in the portal shows each day's plan. Tell the team what you need when you apply — sunrise slots, B-roll time, a quieter hour at the hotel — and they plan around it where the venue allows.

  • Temples, shrines and palaces often restrict tripods, drones or filming inside; each destination site lists the shooting notes for its experiences.
  • Drone rules differ by country and site. Permits are your responsibility unless your itinerary says otherwise.
  • Gather B-roll of transfers, food and hotel details as you go; they are hard to recreate later.

How do I disclose a hosted trip on YouTube?

Tick YouTube's “includes paid promotion” setting and also say on camera, near the start, that the trip was hosted by Explera, with the same in the description. The rules follow your audience's market rather than the destination's, and your agreement gives the exact wording, including any market-specific label.

How long do I have to publish?

Your coverage is due within the window after your last travel day that is set out on the deliverables page and in your agreement. Long-form edits take time, so plan your publishing schedule before you fly. On a multi-destination trip the window runs from the last day of the whole trip.

Do I have to tag @expleradmc on YouTube?

Yes. Mention @expleradmc in the video description and link to the agreed Explera page. @expleradmc is also the handle on Instagram, Facebook, X and Threads, and every applicant confirms they follow it on each profile.

How do I apply?

Apply through the application form with your channel, your blog or website and your preferred destination and dates. If you want to cover more than one country, the destinations overview compares them, and multi-destination trips are open from the Signature tier.
