Questions creators ask

Questions about the programme across Asia

The short version: hosted tiers start at 150k followers on your primary channel, you need your own blog or website, and you get an answer within five business days. Explera provides hotel, transfers and activities, never flights, cash fees, visas or insurance. Multi-destination trips are for Signature tier and above.

Which destination should I apply for?

The one your audience wants to see and that fits your niche. Look at where your followers are based, what they already engage with, and when you can travel, then read the overview for each country on this hub. If two destinations fit and you are Signature tier or above, you can ask for both on one trip.

Can I apply for more than one destination?

Yes. On the hub application form you can pick several destinations. Signature, Authority and Bespoke creators can be hosted on one multi-destination trip. Below Signature, a trip stays in one country, so pick the destination that fits best; you can apply for another country on a later trip once the first collaboration is complete.

How do multi-destination trips work?

You apply once, choose two or more of Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia, and list the experiences you want. One reviewing market answers within five business days and builds the route. Your tier's nights are split across the countries, with hotel, transfers and activities in each. You book and pay for all flights.

Do you cover flights between countries?

No. Explera never provides flights — international, domestic, or between countries on a multi-destination trip. You book and pay for them yourself, then enter the flight numbers in the portal. We use them to arrange your airport transfers at each end, which are included for hosted tiers.

Where do I log in?

Here on the hub. Every creator account lives on travelcreators.expleradmc.com, whichever destination site you applied on. Login links on the Thailand, Japan, South Korea and Indonesia sites all bring you here. After you apply, you receive a magic link by email to claim your account.

What does the portal show?

Your application exactly as submitted, its status timeline, any requests from Explera, the decision and tier, agreements to sign, your documents, the day-by-day itinerary with duty contacts, your deliverables with due dates and required tags, and messages with the team. You can also download your data or manage consents there.

How many followers do I need?

Hosted tiers start at 150,000 followers on your primary channel: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, or an equivalent blog audience. That one number decides the tier. Below 150k we still reply and consider a single activity or tour case by case, without hotel or transfers. Above five million we build the trip individually.

Who qualifies?

Creators aged 18 or over who own a blog or website as well as their primary social channel, whose reach, engagement and audience geography can be verified, and whose niche fits the destination. The website requirement applies to everyone, Spotlight included. Bought followers, engagement pods or undisclosed past sponsorships end the conversation.

How long does it take to get an answer?

Every applicant gets an answer within five business days, counted on the reviewing market's business-day calendar, so local public holidays do not count. The clock pauses while we wait for something from you. Apply at least three weeks before you want to travel; scheduling needs at least a week after the agreement is signed.

What do I have to post before the trip?

Once approved, and before you travel, you publish a pre-trip announcement: a social post on your channel saying you are travelling with Explera and tagging @expleradmc, and a blog post on your own site linking to the agreed Explera page. Both are submitted in the portal with a URL and a screenshot.

What do I publish after the trip, and by when?

Typically a blog post with a do-follow link, a YouTube mention or segment, and at least three Instagram reels or story sets tagging @expleradmc with the venue geotag. Everything is due within 30 days of your last travel day and submitted in the portal with URLs and screenshots. Your agreement sets the exact list.

How does disclosure work?

You disclose according to the rules of your audience's market — FTC guidance for a US audience, ASA and CAP Code rules for a UK audience, and so on — not the destination's. The exact wording for your collaboration is written into your agreement. Explera has no TikTok account, so TikTok posts need disclosure but no Explera tag.

Does Explera approve my content? Is it exclusive?

No to both. We never script or pre-approve editorial content; we check only the agreed tags, links and disclosure, and may ask for a factual correction such as a price or safety detail. The arrangement is non-exclusive, so you remain free to work with other brands and destinations.

Can I bring someone with me?

One companion is usually allowed on day tours, if it is agreed in advance and they are named in the itinerary. Their flights, insurance and any extras are not covered. Personal extras for you as well — additional drinks, spa add-ons, souvenirs or unagreed upgrades — are paid by you.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. Travel insurance is mandatory and your responsibility; Explera does not provide it. Upload proof in the portal before travel. On a multi-destination trip, make sure the policy covers every country on the route and the dates of each leg. Visas and entry requirements are also yours to arrange, country by country.

These answers apply across all four destinations. Each destination site has its own FAQ for country-specific questions such as filming rules at temples and palaces, drone permits and seasonal disruption.
